Coway, a company best known for their air purifiers, has come off CES 2022 after debuting a slew of environmental home appliance innovations. Running with the theme of “innovation for a better life” the products target health and wellness in the home and feature a brand new smart mattress as well as a design-forward air purifier.
“Globally, we are all spending more time in our homes than ever. This has only reinvigorated our dedication to making every consumer’s home a healthy sanctuary of relaxation and wellness,” said Kevin Shim, the Head of Marketing at Coway USA. “We believe our latest sleep, water and air care products do just that at the pinnacle of design and self-care.”
Coway’s Smart Sleep Solution
Having broken their booth up into multiple sections that include the kitchen, the bedroom and more, Coway aims to showcase how technology plays a role developing a healthy, connected ecosystem at home. For instance, their bedroom showcase highlights what they are calling their Smart Sleep Solution.
Combining air purification, humidification and lighting with their new IoT-powered Smart Care Air Mattress, the company demonstrates how a room with a bed as its brains can function. Using proprietary software, the mattress detects body pressure and sleeping position before adjusting to one of nine firmness levels.
Air cells within the mattress individually control air pressure to locally adjust positioning and firmness for users. They also replace traditional springs, removing traditional pain points and greatly reducing the mattress’s degradation over time.
When connected with the mattress, Coway’s Air Care products bring the air to appropriate comfort levels, while the lights automatically dim. There are even specific routines the mattress uses for more natural waking cycles, such as a “relax wake-up mode” that slowly adjusts height levels.
While pricing and an exact release date are not yet available, the bed is expected to release sometime this year.
The Airmega Icon and IconS
In addition to its new smart bed solution, Coway has also debuted a line of premium products dubbed the Noble Collection, further rounding out its healthy home ecosystem offerings. These products include a humidifier, induction cooktop and water purifier series that focus on providing a fully optimized user experience while still sticking to the design aesthetic of whatever space includes them.
The Coway Airmega Icon and IconS, keep in line with this design-forward aesthetic, wrapping itself in stain- and water-resistant fabric that is customizable to help blend into home environments. The products are capable of covering up to 700 square feet of space and use a three-stage filtration process to capture 99.999% of particles down to .01 microns in length. Both the Icon and IconS will be available for US distribution in Q2 2022.
