Artisan kitchen and bath brand Native Trails is expanding its Polished Copper and Polished Nickel finishes to seven select sinks in its Copper Collection. These finishes will now extend to the Rhapsody, Pinnacle, Cocina 21, Farmhouse 30, Cocina 30, Tatra and Kohani sinks, adding the to the existing Antique Copper and Brushed Nickel offerings.
“Our products exemplify our passion for pushing the limits of kitchen and bathroom design while preserving the integrity of the traditions that inspire us – and our foundational hand-hammered recycled copper sinks are no exception,” said Naomi Neilson, Founder and CEO.
“Highly-skilled artisans use traditional coppersmithing techniques to craft these luxurious sinks, each resulting in a one-of-a-kind piece that builds on Native Trails’ pillars of sustainability and contemporary design.”
Nickel and Copper Finishes Extend the Aesthetic Range of Sinks
Native Trails’ copper sinks are hand-crafted through thousands of hammer strikes performed by skilled coppersmiths from Mexico. The copper that forms the sinks are made from 100% recycled scraps that are melted down, pressed into sheets and then formed into shape.
Following the forming process, the sinks are then treated with a smooth-faced planishing hammer to harden the copper, which gives the sink a honed polish and sheen before the final finish is applied. The result, the company states, is a one-of-a-kind functional work of art that embodies the unique style and skilled technique of the artisan who created it.
The Polished Nickel finish imparts a glistening, warm-tined silver color through an electroless plating process, while the Polished Copper finish, the company notes, is a brilliantly luxurious shade with hints of rose gold. For a further layer of protection and nearly maintenance-free sink, the company also suggests applying its MetalProtect sealer to help prevent tarnishing and fingerprints.
Like all Native Trails products, the Copper Collection is available in more than 1,300 showrooms throughout the United States and Canada. The full list of Native Trails product distributors can be accessed at https://nativetrailshome.com/showrooms/.
