Crestron is building upon its smart home ecosystem in a big way. Much like how the sun is a big part of any natural ecosystem, Crestron’s new fully tunable LED Fixtures aim to be a big part of supporting health and wellness on its platform through enabling circadian and human centric lighting applications.
According to Crestron, the new fixtures were created to meet the design, intelligence, elegance, and customization that homeowners demand, adding add real-time personalized lighting control into the Crestron Home operating system.
“Lighting affects everything: mood, concentration, creativity and given the human need for health and wellness within our home, homeowners are looking to designers and technology providers for tunable LED lighting control to support this. Increased awareness of topics such as circadian rhythm, biophilia, and wellness are putting a focus on personal health as impacted by our surroundings,” said John Clancy, Executive Vice President, Residential, Crestron.
“Crestron Home technology uniquely supports this market and can help professional designers and installers bring these coveted solutions to their customers.”
Highlights of the fixtures include:
- One-touch scene control that integrators can easily set up by specifying white light, colors, or can trigger circadian or SolarSync cycles.
- Presets such as “One-touch warm Dim” or “One-touch Wellness” gives homeowners the ability to toggle between their favorites at will.
- Simple setup allows the lighting to run circadian rhythms while also being easily altered if need be.
- Further customization through the LED fixtures allow for more targeted lighting setups, such as showcasing artwork or properly lighting a kitchen island, which can be customized separate from the home system.
Crestron’s Tunable LED Fixtures Delivers the Power of the Sun to Homeowners
The company states that homeowners will be able to take full control of their lights, modulating hue, saturation, color temperature and intensity, either syncing it to their natural circadian rhythm, or using a Crestron Solar Sync sensor to adapt to natural lighting outside.
Alongside these new LED light fixtures, Crestron has also announced the addition of many 3rd party fixture manufacturers to their partner program. Select fixtures from these partners will have native Crestron Home integration and as a result can easily be integrated into Crestron systems to deliver customizable tunable lighting setups in the home.
“With 3rd party light fixture manufacturers partnering with Crestron for our LED Partner Program, we’ll see a huge step forward in the architecture of intelligent and appealing LED light fixtures in addition to the numerous configurations available with the Crestron LED Light Fixture. Installers, designers, and homeowners will all be able to get what they want with flexible, reliable, and simple to deploy lighting solutions.” noted Clancy.
One of the strengths, Crestron notes, is in their modular design. This, according to the company, gives them a wide range of flexibility and control to complement any design or décor. As part of the lineup, fixture options will include adjustable, wall wash, fixed frame, pinhole fixtures, multiple enclosure possibilities and square or round trims.
The company then notes the interoperability with other elements of the Crestron home ecosystem, allowing custom integrators and designers to create more functional, rounded spaces. These include many of Crestron’s shading options, including its newly announced battery powered shades, to further manage the aspects of lighting throughout the home. Crestron has also announced they’ll be offering a variety of training in the topic of lighting.
The fixtures are set to be available for the United States and Canada in Summer 2022.
