Light. Water. Air. All are integral for people to live well. That is why wellness technology often centers around them in the home. From reverse osmosis water filters to human centric or circadian lighting, there are an abundance of ways in which technology can help improve the lives of people in the home. And it’s a fact that Jan Vitrofsky and his team at HEDSouth know incredibly well.
Being one of the “grandfathers” of the wellness movement in the field of integration, Jan and his team have been working with designers and homebuilders to bring healthy homes to life since 2017. In that time, he’s learned that while no one will deny the value of these three pillars, bringing them up in conversation with build teams during construction can be, as he calls it “cumbersome.” Much like the technology he deals in, however, Jan says there’s a very holistic solution one can take.
“It all starts with leaning back and being a good listener to the vision of the designer and what they want to deliver to their client,” says Jan in an article speaking on that exact subject. “Once you have that viewpoint, you can work wellness in as a natural fit.”
Here, in this inaugural podcast, Jan speaks more about being able to start the wellness conversation with designers and builders. In addition, Jan goes over the work HEDSouth has been doing in the world of healthy home integration, and how focusing on the three pillars of wellness can help transform the home into a sanctuary of comfort, convenience and regeneration.
