To meet the increasing demand for surface protection, Formica Corporation has launched the Formica Laminate Antimicrobial Collection in the U.S. and Mexico. The collection uses BioCote, a silver-ion-based technology that’s been safely used for more than 20 years to guard against odor- and stain-causing microbes.

In testing, the Formica Laminate Antimicrobial Collection has been shown to inhibit the growth of odor and stain causing bacteria on the surface after 24 hours. The collection also significantly prevented odor-causing mold and mildew growth over the 28-day exposure period.

Designed with high-traffic settings in mind, such as break rooms, storage cabinets, restaurants and more, the collection comes available in 20 of Formica’s most well-loved laminate designs, from solid colors to patterns and woodgrains. The FDA has even approved the technology for use in food manufacturing, processing and handling environments.
