The sixth generation of Samsung’s Family Hub, now with Alexa Built-in, has become more than just a smart refrigerator, allowing full control of Samsung smart appliances and devices, music streaming, television mirroring, recipe planning, grocery shopping and more from the fridge.

The redesigned user interface gives even more convenience and control from customizable theme screens to keep everything organized, reducing the clutter on life while also helping to cut back on food waste through better planning. Users can also post videos, leave notes for family members and sync calendars.

Access to the SmartThings Cooking platform offers healthy, convenient and easy-to-make recipes based on user preferences and allows them to create a meal plan for the week. From there, the necessary ingredients can even be added to a shopping list on the refrigerator and order them directly from Samsung’s newest shopping partner, Perdue Farms.

The Family Hub comes built in with Alexa, granting further access to Alexa’s skills from the fridge. Users also have the option to switch between Alexa and Bixby, Samsung’s voice assistant, or to use them simultaneously.

The Family Hub is available on a wide range of refrigerators, including the 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with software enhancement available for second-generation Family Hub refrigerators onward.
