Lutron Electronics, the leader in lighting control and automated shading, introduced the Diva smart dimmer and Claro smart switch to its Caséta portfolio earlier this week. Combining a distinctive look with a user-friendly design, the Lutron Diva smart dimmer now gives homeowners and professionals a new way to deliver lighting throughout a project.
“Lutron’s Diva dimmer has been a favorite of homeowners and electrical professionals for over 30 years,” said Matt Swatsky, Vice-President, Residential Connected Home Business at Lutron.
“We are excited to give our customers a new product that uses the DIVA design, wires virtually the same, and has the same quality that they have come to expect with the original Diva dimmer, but now, has a wireless option and connects to their smart home”.
Like the original Diva dimmer, the new smart dimmer can work with the home’s existing wiring and doesn’t even require a neutral wire. The intuitive paddle design adds precise dimming control with a soft-glow light bar and preset functionality. The old-school paddle design also helps the new switch fit into many existing home designs, so improved functionality doesn’t have to contrast too starkly with aesthetics.
The Diva Smart Dimmer Adds Flexibility to Complete Any Job
According to Lutron, the added wireless connectivity offers professionals the ability to add a second ‘switch’ almost anywhere by simply pairing the dimmer with a Pico smart remote. This will help cut on cost and effort by removing the need to run wires and cut extra holes in walls.
The Diva smart dimmer can also be installed in a wired 3-way application using either an existing mechanical switch or wired accessory switch.
As with all Caséta products, homeowners and professionals can use the Lutron smart hub to unlock powerful smart features. Customizable scenes and schedules can be easily set, whether its to create an ideal environment for circadian entrainment, or its to welcome homeowners to a well-lit home at the end of the day.
Caséta smart lighting controls provide flexibility and control beyond the wall switch, so homeowners can set and manage lights from virtually anywhere using the wireless remote, app, or even voice. The Smart Hub uses its own ultra-fast, reliable network that doesn’t rely on Wi-Fi – so lights and custom schedules will still work, even if the Wi-Fi goes down.
The Diva smart dimmer and the Claro smart switch will be available starting September 12, 2022 on homedepot.com as well as at select Home Depot stores and Electrical Distributors.
