Despite its name, Savant’s GE Lighting is going beyond smart lighting products with its latest releases. Originally C by GE, the company has rebranded its product line under the new CYNC brand, with a new app available for homeowners to take control of their entire smart home system, both inside and out.
Powered by the Savant mobile app, the CYNC app offers a user-friendly experience with enhanced personalization and customization like no other on the market, thanks to the incorporation of Savant technologies, like the TrueImage™ feature that, according to BusinessWire, allows users to preview color and brightness changes on photos of rooms uploaded to the app. It connects all C by GE and CYNC products on a single network, giving users complete control over the entire CYNC smart home system. Users can customize scenes, set up schedules and monitor device activity all within the app’s interface. The CYNC app is free for download on Google and Apple app stores.
CYNC Outdoor Smart Plug
Introduced in tandem with the app, the CYNC Outdoor Smart Plug is an entry-level addition into smart home lighting with an MSRP of $29.99 and while rated for use in fountains, pathway lights and spotlight, it can be used for a variety of uses like setting lighting schedules to increase energy efficiency and program dynamic lighting for HCL applications. Both outlets can be independently managed either through the CYNC app or with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice assistants for complete control no matter where the user is.
CYNC Indoor Smart Camera
Marking GE Lighting’s step into the security space, the CYNC Indoor Smart Camera puts consumer privacy first at an MSRP of $69.99. In addition to providing security alongside brilliant picture quality, it also comes with a privacy shutter that completely blocks the camera view for when customers wish to shut the camera off completely. A micro SD card port allows for further privacy and security, giving users the option to bypass cloud uploads of their data.
Coming Soon to the CYNC Family
This summer will also mark the rollout of GE Lighting’s CYNC Fan Speed Smart Switch, which will provide simple control of ceiling fans through the CYNC app anywhere inside or outside the home. The smart switch can also be scheduled to turn on or off at specific intervals with four fan speeds and grouping with other CYNC/C by GE devices for additional room control.
