One Vanderbilt Avenue continues upon its commitment to be one of the most ecologically sensitive and health-conscious skyscrapers in New York with its latest announcement. The Plasma Air line of HVAC air purification products, provided by WellAir, will now be installed throughout One Vanderbilt’s office floors, SUMMIT One Vanderbilt and its tenant and public spaces.
“We worked closely with our longstanding partner, Trane Technologies, to identify the right product to deploy at One Vanderbilt. WellAir’s strong foundation in healthcare and established footprint in commercial, hospitality, entertainment and residential markets made them the right choice to provide a safe, effective and easy-to-install solution,” said Edward V. Piccinich, Chief Operating Officer of SL Green, which owns and developed the property. “We value the health and safety of our tenants and recognize that indoor air quality is crucial for both companies and their employees as they return to office.”
WellAir Expands its Role in Air Cleaning at the One Vanderbilt Property
The 1,401-foot-tall skyscraper is located at the corner of 42nd Street and Vanderbilt Avenue in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. Known for its incredible space and views of New York City, it is the headquarters of leading global companies such as MSD Partners, TD Securities and Mamoura Holdings, among others. It is also currently on track to receive the highest LEED and WELL certification ratings.
Having already been installed in One Vanderbilt in 2021, WellAir’s products are now being deployed in additional spaces to help support a return to in-person office hours among the tower’s office tenants. In recent third-party laboratory testing, WellAir’s Plasma Air technology was shown to reduce the live SARS-CoV-2 virus by 99.99 percent in 90 minutes. Additionally, the products have demonstrated improvement in indoor air quality by reducing a variety of VOCs and virus sized particles in a real-world environment.
“We have been partnering with several real estate companies, including SL Green Realty, to help ensure that buildings are creating the healthy environments for a workforce that has never been more attuned to the importance of indoor air quality,” said Mark Schmidt, Executive Vice President of In-Duct Solutions at WellAir. “We are proud to be one of the few companies with a broad portfolio of indoor air quality products to suit a variety of needs – from office spaces to schools and homes.”
