Legrand is making ‘waves’ with a new update to their touchless technologies, expanding the range of hygienic control options for both residential and commercial applications. With the launch of the new radiant Wave Switch, the electrical wiring device manufacturer expands upon the touchless switch technology first popularized by their adorne Collection with the goal of offering a versatile, healthy solution that can fit into even more applications and projects.
Available in both 15A and 20A options, the Wave Switch installs in place of any standard light switch and can be used in both single-pole and 3-way applications. It also features an internal sensor which can be adjusted to detect the wave motion anywhere from 1” to 6” from the device. In addition to the new radiant Wave Switch, Legrand states that the adorne Wave Switch will also be made available in a 20A version to round out its offering of designer, touchless solutions.
The Wave Switch Opens Cleaner Control Options for Residential and Commercial Spaces
Legrand describes the radiant Wave Switch as an ‘easy, sleek option for cleaner control.’ Whether it gets used as a simple light switch, or as a control interface for small-motored appliances such as the garbage disposals the switch is a welcome, hygienic option as more people seek touchless solutions, especially in the kitchen and bathroom.
Being able to work with a simple wave, the device allows users to cycle devices on and off, limiting mess and reducing the potential spread of germs, as noted by the company.
“Exceptional design is as much about offering practical solutions as it is about style and form,” said Angela Coffman, VP, Marketing EWS & GM Collections. “Who hasn’t struggled to hit the lights when carrying something? Or needed to flip a switch with less-than-clean hands? Our collections of designer switches and outlets include options for touchless control to add convenience while also helping create cleaner spaces. Whether those spaces are hotel guestrooms, office conference rooms, or the kitchen and laundry room in a home.”
