Seoul Semiconductor Co., Ltd. has recently announced it’s SunLike natural spectrum LEDs will now be featured in LEDVANCE’s Sun@Home product line of human-centric light fixtures.
“Children, students, and office workers are staying longer at home amid the pandemic, increasing the importance of lighting for not only study and work but rest as well. SunLike is the only LED technology to replicate natural light from early dawn in which the sun rises to sunset where the sun sets into, and LEVANCE has adopted it for their premium lighting brand,” said an official of Seoul Semiconductor.
With the addition of SunLike LED technology to its premium lighting product, LEDVANCE aims to create the optimal smart lighting solution for improving the health and wellbeing of its users. According to LEDVANCE, the new products can remotely and automatically adjust color temperatures and light intensity, better representing natural sunlight as the day moves from noon to evening.
Launched in October, the new product line features 19 models that include the SunLike LED technology across 10 categories, including, desk lamps, office lighting, panel lighting, room lighting, downlights, wall-mounted lamps, night lights, lightbulbs, candle-shaped lights, and track lighting.
The Benefits of SunLike’s Natural Light Fixtures
Previously, Seoul Semiconductors has conducted a tremendous number of tests on its own products in attempts to better showcase their efficacy and benefits. SunLike acquired Rf 95 and higher in the color fidelity test assessing similarity with natural light at Underwriters Laboratories acquiring the Diamond Level for the first time in the world as the LED light source.
Seoul Semiconductor has further demonstrated the benefits of its human-centric lighting through research assessing its affects on learning abilities, visual comfort and sleep quality. Following Seoul National University in Korea and Basel University in Europe, a research team found that exposure to short-wavelength enriched light with daylight-like spectrum improves key components of learning such as working memory, cognitive processing speed, and testing accuracy.
Having recently acquired full rights to the SunLike technology for more stable production and expansion, Seoul Semiconductors also states that it intends to continue making its technology widely available to lighting manufacturers, having already been selected by 33 brands since the LED’s inception in 2017.
