The numbers are in for CEDIA Expo 2022. Having just wrapped up last week, the massive tradeshow for residential technology integration, design and construction was to be the grand return of the show since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it certainly seemed to be that way. The platform announced yesterday that a total of 15,497 people registered for the show with a verified attendance of 11,946 industry professionals and 317 exhibitors.
“CEDIA Expo 2022 was an impressive return to in-person events for the custom systems integration channel,” noted Jason McGraw, CTS, group vice president for CEDIA Expo and KBIS, Emerald. “The strong turnout of attendees to this year’s show exceeded expectations and we performed much better than most industry events held this year in terms of working back to pre-pandemic numbers.
“Over 40% of attendees were first-time attendees, demonstrating our continued commitment to connecting exhibitors with new customers. Attendees were serious about business and were fully engaged with our exhibitors. There was an energy and buzz of excitement clearly evident on the show floor. We can’t wait for CEDIA Expo 2023 in Denver, Colorado!”
A Strong Return for CEDIA Expo in Education and Exhibitions
In its return, CEDIA Expo featured 50 new exhibitors, including AWOL Vision, Pulse-Eight and Simcraft, and the highly anticipated return of Crestron. Networking and special events held at the show, including the CE Pro All-Star Band Opening Reception, CE Pro Awards, Opening Keynote with Greg Durkin, The CEDIA Advocacy Town Hall, CEDIA Awards, CEDIA Member Reception, Women in Consumer Technology Luncheon, and AV Yoga allowed attendees to reconnect with friends and colleagues and to learn about industry issues and trends.
In addition, thousands of CEDIA Expo attendees participated in various educational sessions ranging from engaging and insightful talks on the Smart Stage and Innovation Hub to Manufacturer Product Training (MPT). The conference featured 55 sessions in total that focused on formal training, professional advancement, advocacy activations and insightful speakers on emerging trends.
Industry-leading manufacturers, including Crestron, Legrand AV, Origin Acoustics, SnapOne, Sony and Sound United, among 29 brands, presented over 100 Manufacturer Product Training (MPT) sessions on their latest products and solutions. Together, the Smart Stage and Innovation Hub featured 40 sessions on emerging technologies and industry-trending topics such as design-focused technology, smart energy management and living-in-place technologies.
This was followed by news that CEDIA Expo 2023 will be co-located with the newly introduced Commercial Integrator Expo, which will take place September 6 – 9, 2023, in Denver, CO.
