Carrier’s Efforts in Promoting Healthier Indoor Environments
Launched at the height of the pandemic, Carrier’s Healthy Building’s program has provided a suite of programs and solutions to deliver healthy indoor environments around the world. The OptiClean™ Dual-Mode Air Scrubber & Negative Air Machine, which cleans and removes air potentially contaminated by COVID-19 and is a key element of the program, is being used in thousands of classrooms across the U.S. to help improve indoor air quality.
Carrier also recently launched Abound in 2021, an IoT platform that helps building owners and operators monitor and manage real time indoor air quality metrics, instilling public confidence in reentering indoor spaces. Currently being piloted in commercial offices, education, and sports and entertainment venues, Abound is also operating at Carrier’s world headquarters and building technology showcase.
Additionally, Carrier continues to support important research on how indoor air quality can impact health and cognition. Most recently, Carrier funded research conducted by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, which found better thinking and better health can be found inside healthier buildings. Known collectively as the COGfx Studies, the three separate but coordinated studies have shown the connection between better indoor air quality and better cognitive function.
Access to all three studies and their findings can be found here.
