Newly announced as part of the forthcoming Hacienda AltaGracia from Auberge Resorts Collection, US wellness brand and health spa, The Well, will be opening its first international holistic wellness retreat in Costa Rica’s Cordillera de Talamanca mountains.
According to Spa Business, The Well’s debut here is just the start of a strategic global expansion plan that will open a second as-of-yet unnamed location in Central America, in addition to locations in Florida, California, Texas, Colorado and the UK.
Inside The Well at Hacienda AltaGracia
Following the holistic practices grounding Hacienda AltaGracia, The Well will be incorporating its own holistic wellness approach with rituals inspired by Central American traditions and aimed at connecting guests to AltaGracia’s core philosophy, community-oriented, a sense of belonging and learning unites visitors and locals.
To this end, a series of restorative therapies and activities have been planned with spa treatments incorporating locally-sourced products into treatments, selected specifically for the destination. Activities and offerings include craniosacral therapy, binaural sound therapy, lunar gong baths and silent breakfasts, in addition to The Well employing a wealth of advanced technology to promote recovery and relaxation.
These services will be administered through eight treatment rooms, supplied by Living Earth Crafts, Celluma and Hyperice.
Crafting a Signature Journey Into Health and Wellbeing
The Well’s certified health coaches will also be on hand to help better connect guests to healthy and nutritional lifestyle choices that will support their personalized health and wellness goals. The process will begin with a personal health history survey that will then inform the personalized journey.
But first, arrivals will take part in their purification ritual to better prepare them for the benefits of their selected experience. Situated in Casa de Agua, AltaGracia’s green-house style pool and heat therapy room, guests will glimpse the lush, verdant canopies of the Costa Rican rainforests as they have rich, Costa Rican clay massaged into their skin.
From there, they are made to recline on a heated stone lounger, sipping hot herbal tea and gazing out onto the majestic Talamanca Mountains. A trip to the showers then sees the clay washed away as preparation for a relaxing soak in the resort’s tranquility pool, followed by time spent in the aromatherapy steam room, the sauna and one last shower experience before being turned unto their chosen treatment.
