Having debuted at ICWE last month, the new Nano 2 by Screen Innovations (SI) is now available for integrators and designers. The new, sleek-bodied solution builds upon the original Nano by adding a slew of new features that have been requested by SI dealers for some time, including easy access to motors, easily swappable shading fabric and better performing technology.
“This product refresh demonstrates SI’s commitment to evolving and advancing its motorized shading solutions to meet the needs of integrators, as well as designers, architects, and window covering specialists,” says SI CEO Ryan Gustafson. “We focused on the technology inside— and the cosmetics outside— to create a one-of-a-kind product that gives our dealers an edge when bidding and completing projects. At the same time, it helps position SI as a key player in the window fashion industry.”
Nano 2 Provides Ease of Access for Service and Customization
One enhancement, the company notes, that will be particularly helpful to building professionals, is the Nano 2’s removable front cover, granting easy access to many of the inner workings of the cassette. This way, leveling adjustments, maintenance and fabric swaps during a remodel can be handled easily. Additionally, the motor and control cables can be detached from the mounted shading cassette for easier service. Other refinements include smoother, quieter lifting and lowering of the shade and quick programming and integration with other devices using SI’s new 485 motor interfaces.
Currently, the Nano 2’s feature set comes pre-built into the SI 275 cassette, with the larger 375, 475 and Duo models to follow shortly after. The new Nano 2 shades look identical to SI’s original Nano cassette, lending a clean, consistent aesthetic in projects where both versions are employed.
“It’s what this product looks like— virtually invisible— that makes it stand out from the competition and attract customers,” confirms David Huse of Theater Advice of Dallas, Texas.
