Orro, the creator of the Orro smart Living System, has announced today its latest product in the realm of adaptive, human centric lighting: the Orro S. Starting at $149 MSRP, the new device provides the same human centric lighting experience featured in the Orro One at an affordable price capable of accommodating project budgets both large and small.
As a lighting-focused iteration of Orro’s flagship product, the Orro S delivers a full lighting solution to the entire home where the extra functionality may not be needed, such as the laundry room or a storage area. It also provides a streamlined solution for clients more wary of integrating voice control into aspects of their home.
This also adds a highly versatile tool to the arsenals of integrators, homeowners, electricians and homebuilders. As clients begin to explore smart home integration, the Orro S offers a simple, easy to install starter or upgrade option that can be built into a variety of systems for customers at varying stages of smart home adoption. Whether its shifting from analog switches to digital or filling out the rest of their home with an adaptive, smart living solution, the Orro S can contribute to a highly flexible system.
“With the addition of Orro S, we believe we have the most versatile, intelligent lighting and whole home control system available, now for any home and budget,” said Orro CEO Colin Billings. “Our company mission includes making homes more peaceful, happier and healthier places to live and work, through lighting that’s in tune with our exact needs and natural rhythms. With Orro S, we’re bringing this experience to more rooms and a wider range of projects.”
The Orro S Opens Even Greater Possibilities for Human Centric Lighting Installations
As a sensor-enabled, intelligent dimmer, the Orro S provides all the human centric benefits that are synonymous with the Orro ecosystem and experience. By detecting motion, sound and light, the Orro S responds with the perfect amount of lighting right when you need it.
At the same time, the system learns and adapts based on users’ habits and preferences, reducing lighting usage by as much as 80%. The Orro S can be used standalone or in conjunction with Orro One, making the product a perfect match for anyone looking to benefit from Orro’s Smart Living System without the added smart home control features.
The Orro S also keeps with being a design-minded offering. With options of white and black switches, the Orro S also uses a glass screen with capacitive touch over the original’s touchscreen interface, allowing it to blend exceedingly well into any home environment.
Additionally, despite only focusing on the lighting experience, any user connected to Orro S through the app can still control other elements of their smart home. The Orro S is entirely capable of functioning on its own, with the added option of being incorporated into larger systems later on down the line.
Now in private beta, the Orro S will be available for the spring/summer home building season. The product can be previewed at the National Association of Home Builders’ upcoming International Builders Show, in booth W5787.
