Drawing influential architects, designers and facility managers from around the world, NeoCon is a major platform for the commercial design industry, and it’s one of the reasons why DesignWell is so excited to be in attendance this year. It’s also an incredible opportunity to see many of the innovations that are happening in sustainability and wellness, which many of the show’s exhibitors embrace with considerable gusto, particularly when it comes to biophilic design.
Of course, this year’s NeoCon will feature an incredible number of educational sessions and talks addressing these topics throughout Healthcare, Hospitality, Retail, Education, Public Space, and Government sectors. But as demand for products that support privacy and adaptability, promote wellbeing and feature biophilic elements continues to endure, this has led to some incredible, cutting-edge exhibitor solutions we’re absolutely thrilled to see.
Here’s a small snapshot of some of the biophilic design solutions we can’t wait to get to while at the show.
Davis Furniture (3–115)

Davis Furniture’s collaboration with German design duo Jehs + Laub resulted in the Bonh planter system—a unique collection of architectural planter structures that highlight the importance of including organic biophilic design elements indoors as a means to improve mental health and wellness. Based on the configuration, the structure/s can serve to both divide a space and/or as a striking interior accessory with mood-boosting properties.

Mohawk Group’s Lichen Community, a new, multi-hued modular carpet collection, features a soothing textural design that recalls the natural world. Outfitted with the company’s new EcoFlex One backing, Lichen Community is just as appealing in its formation. It is also Mohawk Group’s lowest embodied carbon carpet tile to date, is Living Product certified, and is NSF 140 Platinum for a net positive impact. Supporting a more sustainable, ecological community inspires wellness.

JANUS et Cie expands its exotically inspired Zebra collection with two new adjustable Up & Down Tables, offering endless versatility and enhanced ergonomics. Available in three heights, Zebra Up & Down Tables accomodate a multitude of chair styles and task-based customization, whether used for enjoying a lunch break or for working outdoors. Cleverly integrated wheels maintain the clean lines of the legs while facilitating easy movement for a variety of uses.

Patcraft’s Within is a coordinating plank and sheet resilient collection available in both abstract and wood visuals that infuse any office with a nature-inspired aesthetic. With patterns and colors determined by market research and insights, the collection was designed to specifically meet the needs of healthcare environments, and would be ideal in hospital offices and other healthcare-oriented workspaces. The wood visual is embossed in register, providing texture for a more realistic wood look, and is available in nine warm and inviting colorways. The collection features a 20 mil wear layer for superior durability, and an ExoGuard® finish provides enhanced scratch and stain resistance.

The ZigZag table by Formaspace is a multipurpose bench that includes a planter, seating, and a table that can adapt to seated or standing work, informal meetings, and/or serve as a spot to unwind. Whether the bench is used in waiting areas, for indoor/outdoor workstations, in retail or hospitality areas (indoors and out), the comfortable width, durability of the steel and Ipe wood, and hygienic Caesarstone top contribute to an aesthetically pleasing design that involves organic materials enhanced by nature.
