A cozy space with a prickly (but adorable) name, Sensei Porcupine Creek, the second retreat for the resort brand has been announced to open in early 2022. Long known for leveraging technology and evidence-based methodology in its program structures to deliver a health and wellness retreat in breathtaking natural settings, Sensei will be setting up its first standalone retreat in a 230-acre private estate in the Santa Rosa mountains of California.
Similar to its sister facility, Sensei Lāna’i, A Four Seasons Resort in Hawaii, Porcupine Creek will offer spa, nutrition, movement and other wellness and sports program found there. Small hotel rooms will be available within the main estate house with secluded villas scattered throughout the property providing tranquility and privacy to guests. Sensei will also be providing curated packages based on the Sensei Way, distilling health sciences into three simple paths for everyday living: Move, Nourish and Rest.
Led by Dr. David Agus and supported by Sensei Guides and practitioners, all holding advanced degrees in their fields, the Sensei Way was created with the goal of helping participants to lead longer, healthier lives while serving as an advanced authority in the field of health and wellness.
Tailoring the Experience, Guest by Guest
The Sensei Guides will be a main fixture at Porcupine Creek, collaborating with Prearrival Specialists and Sports Performance Coaches to curate itineraries based on individual goals with activities such as spa treatments, yoga classes, daily hikes and more. Sensei’s continued collaboration with Nobu will provide healthy and nourishing cuisine to accompany these activities.
“Sensei is a trusted source for immersive wellbeing, given we have best-in-class practitioners and our approach is rooted in science and research and backed by technology. The Guest’s stay is further enhanced by unmatched settings grounding people in a lush natural environment that becomes as much a part of the experience as the wellness programs themselves,” said Kevin Kelly, CEO of Sensei. “Our first retreat is located in Ko’ele, the spiritual uplands of Lāna’i. Now, with Sensei Porcupine Creek, we have the opportunity to offer our programming in a stunning luxury setting that takes advantage of its majestic desert location, which has long been a destination for health and wellness seekers.”
As its first foray into operating both the wellness facilities and the hotel, the information already provided on Porcupine Creek has it shaping up to be a relaxing, nourishing venture.
