There is a considerable boom in the world of outdoor living, however, for many parts of the world, fall and winter often come as a concrete end to the usefulness of those spaces. However, Effe Perfect Wellness is introducing its own answer to that through its new luxury outdoor sauna, the Cabanon.
Designed by Rodolfo Dordoni with Michele Angelini, the models were first introduced at Salone del Mobile 2022 in Milan and are an evolution of Effe Perfect Wellness’s original mission, which has been to bring the sauna—a mainly commercial offering—into private residential spaces by recreating it as a unique piece of ‘furniture’ for the home.
The design itself takes cues from the design of the original Finnish sauna, which is traditionally located outdoors to be immersed in nature. Effe’s version of this comes in two separate versions, each designed uniquely for the environment where they are to be deployed.
The Garden is appropriately designed for gardens and green spaces, while Terrace is meant for more urban settings, such as terraces and verandas. They have also been crafted to be ultra-sustainable, being 100% recyclable after use and boasting state-of-the-art energy saving technologies.

The standout feature of the Cabanon comes in its modularity. This makes the product easy to transport and install in even the most awkward locations, while also requiring very little in terms infrastructure once installed. The aluminum frame has been designed so the interior covering in wood and the external painted corrugated aluminum cladding can be fitted easily in the final stage of installation. The sauna’s heater also comes clad in the same aluminum material.
The three-color options—moss, brick and cement—have been selected with the sauna’s ideal environments in mind, allowing the structure to blend in more naturally. The extending deck, meanwhile, is made of wood plastic composite boards, which is designed to simulate the natural touch and appearance of wood while being both safe and durable for extended use.
The interiors of the saunas are offered in either heat-treated aspen or two-toned dark wood and heat treated aspen for a warmer look.
Inside, warm LED lighting runs along the perimeter of the bench, walls and mirror, adding a softness in the light to complement the sauna environment. It also comes with a hand-held showerhead and pegs for bathrobes on the deck. Interior finishes are also available in bright heat-treated aspen or two-tone dark wood and heat-treated aspen to add even more visual warmth to the space for the colder winter days. Customizable curtains and shading are also available to add extra privacy.
Each style also comes with a different orientation of its windows. The Terrace, for instance, has a single glass door that looks out into its environment. The Garden, meanwhile, has a symmetrical window opposite the door, with the benches set back into a more private recess.
