Brilliant has recently announced its twenty-fifth partner integration, and it comes to Hunter Douglas’ PowerView Automation for window shades. According to the smart home control company, this has been one of the most requested brand integrations by their user and installer base. The integration itself is expected to be fully available later this month.
The newest integration will make it so that Brilliant users can control and automate Hunter Douglas PowerView Gen 3 shades connected to a PowerView Gen 3 Gateway from in-wall Brilliant touchscreen controls or on the all-in one Brilliant mobile app. Hunter Douglas customers, meanwhile, gain access to control and automation features on an affordable, built-in home control system.
This integration also gives builders and professional installers the ability to offer complete home automation systems at a mass market price with no custom programming required.
Integration Brings Brilliant Scene Creation to Hunter Douglas Automation
As a result of the integration Brilliant users can open, close, tilt up, tilt down and set Hunter Douglas shades to specific levels on the Brilliant Control panel and mobile app. Brilliant Scenes, meanwhile, expands the functionality to be programmable and set to specific schedules.
Brilliant states that users can control groups of shades together or create custom groupings and scenes to control an array of connected products simultaneously. For example, a simple tap of a ‘Goodnight’ scene can close all shades, locks all doors, turns off the lights and lowers the temp. Likewise, a ‘Wake up’ scene can set bedroom blinds to open at sunrise and turn up thermostat on workdays.
The company also notes that users can assign a slider on the Brilliant Control panel or even use screen gestures to control their Hunter Douglas shades. Users can also control Hunter Douglas window shades and all other smart home devices from anywhere with a single app.
