Turkish powerhouse Beko makes home appliances that champion efficiency, wellness, and sustainability, and that dedication to holistic living has garnered the manufacturer the 2021 Energy Star Partner of the Year Sustainable Excellence Award, the fifth consecutive year it’s won Energy Star’s top honor—the industry’s only brand to be acknowledged every year since it entered the U.S. market—and the third it’s been recognized for Sustained Excellence.
Announced by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Beko’s award recognizes the brand’s long-term commitment to fighting climate change and protecting public health through energy efficiency.
“Beko remains laser-focused on sustainability and empowering Americans to live healthy lives on a healthy planet,” says Zach Elkin, president of Beko U.S.
Launched in 1955, Beko, available in more than 130 countries, is the fastest-growing home appliance brand in Europe, and is quickly gaining a following in the States to boot. Here, the company works with a growing number of dealers to provide consumers with 29 different wellness-oriented kitchen and laundry products, including next-generation heat-pump dryers, Aqua Intense dishwashers, and compact but roomy washing machines along with bottom-mount freezer refrigerators and upright freezers honored with the EPA’s Emerging Technology Award.
Fueled by an eco-conscious ethos, Beko is committed to exceeding Energy Star, EPA, and DOE requirements, as well as setting new standards for carbon-neutral manufacturing, training, energy communications, and sustainability at its 22 global production facilities and all other company operations.
Winners are selected from a network of thousands of Energy Star partners and demonstrates to the world, says EPA administrator Michael S. Regan, “that delivering real climate solutions makes good business sense and promotes job growth.”
